The number of tenders invited through e-GP system has crossed one lakh (0.1million) and the total estimated cost of such tenders has stood at TK87,647 crore
On June 1, 2017, the number of tenders invited in e-GP was 100,031 since 2011 when the electronic government procurement was piloted in four large procuring agencies such as LGED, RHD, BWDB and BREB.
On successful piloting, e-GP was rolled out to other agencies and until June 1, 1103 out of a total of 1300 procuring agencies got connected to e-GP system.
The Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) of IME Division, Ministry of Planning, is implementing e-GP under a government directive to digitize public procurement in the country.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the e-GP Portal (www.eprocure.gov.bd on June 2, 2011).
e-GP Guideline was issued in 2011 under the Public Procurement Act 2006 and the Public Procurement Rules 2008.
