About 20 thousand officers of various procuring agencies have received training on public procurement management since March 2008 until March 31, 2017.
The capacity building efforts of CPTU included training of various durations for separate target groups.
Such groups included policy level officials, senior, mid and entry-level civil servants, Planning and Administrative Cadres, municipalities, NBR, training for auditors, project managers, judicial staff, journalists, anti-corruption officials, Parliament Secretariat officers, business community, tenderers and consultants.
The trainings are of three-week, five-day, three-day, two-day, one-day and half-day duration
On behalf of CPTU the consulting firm Fineurop conducted 18 types of courses under the Component 1 of the Public Procurement Reform Project-II.
On March 27, 2017, the Fineurop Support hosted a reception on the occasion of its completion of assignment as the capacity development and procurement training institutionalizing consultant.
However, trainings are now also continuing at the ESCB that is being developed as a centre of excellence in public procurement.
Secretary of IME Division Md Mofizul Islam, Director General of CPTU Md Faruque Hossain, Rector of ESCB Engineer Professor Abdul Hannan, Lead Procurement Specialist of World Bank Dr Zafrul Islam were present on the occasion. Managing Director of FINEUROP SUPPORT, Marco Sebastiani,Project Manager of FINEUROP SUPPORT, Carlotta Chialstri and Team Leader, Capacity Development Component of PPRP-II, Liam Heavin were also present on the occasion. |
