INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT
|
Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
a) Review all project documents and suggest modifications as necessary to ensure sustainability of the bridges.
b) Review and provide necessary comments/suggestions (if any) to LGED on the survey and sub-soil investigation reports conducted and submitted by sub-consultants or contractors.
c) Review hydro-morphological study reports and provide comment/suggestions to LGED (if any) for finalization of hydraulic parameters of the selected bridges by the concerned consultant.
d) Understanding ‘Design Criteria’ (Geometrical and Structural) for the bridges under the project on the basis of LGED’s Bridge Design Standard, AASHTO-LRFD and also discussing with Design Unit and Project Director.
e) Justify the preliminary designs of the selected bridges (assigned by the PD) on the basis of hydro-morphological reports, topographic survey, sub-soil condition etc. upon providing necessary field visits to the selected bridge sites.
f) Discuss with Design Unit and concerned Project Director and TL for Preparation Justification Report of the preliminary design of selected bridges including the bridge alignment, length, geometry, hydraulic parameter, foundation type, protective works, approach road etc.
g) Prepare ‘Quality Assurance Plan’ including construction guide line, cheek list, construction monitoring record sheet, quality assessment system, testing (if any needed), work progress monitoring etc. for the project as per discussion with Design Unit and PD, and assist LGED to use it during the construction of the bridges.
h) Examine the physical lay-out of bridges provided by the Contractor following the design and drawing and provide necessary directive to correct the alignment if needed.
i) Examine and provide comments/suggestions on the contractors personnel work procedure/methodology, work plan/construction technology, equipment used, materials quality, testing system, shop drawings, etc. to satisfy the requirements of technical specification.
j) Guide the Field Engineer/Assistant Field Engineer to execution the field works. Prepare mix design as discussion with Design Unit before casting of Structural component of the Bridge and it will be done again in changes of materials and disseminate this to the Field Engineer/Assistant Field Engineer as well as concerned Executive Engineer. Mix Design report should be submitted to the Project Director/Design Unit for approval before casting.
k) Proposed for Modify design of bridges and or any of the components (if needed) based on the actual site condition and problems arise during construction.
l) Visit to the bridge construction sites to supervise works and monitor progress particularly, supervise/guide other project engineers for the construction works; particular attention be given on bored piles, post-tensioning of girders, methodology of arch bridges, Slope protection and shifting works etc. and also advice as necessary based on the actual field condition; draft management letters for the employer to inform the contractor about supervision findings.
m) Arrange “tripartite management meeting” involving the employer, contractor and the consultants to discuss work plan; expertise and materials requirements and other problems encountered during construction; prepare minutes of meetings and circulate amongst all concerned parties with a copy to the Project Director. Ensure record keeping resolving future disputes if any arises.
n) Provide on the job training to LGED officials, Field engineers and the Contractor’s personnel on bridge construction works covering bored pile construction, static load test on pile, Construction quality, Post-tension of bridge girders, methodology of arch bridges etc.
o) Supervise works of Field Engineer and Assistant Field Engineer and provide guidance to them as required.
p) The consultant shall advice the Project Director on contractual matters. He shall attend adjudication and arbitration sittings, if necessary, along with LGED representative in connection with the settlement of disputes (if any arises).

15(fifteen) years of overall experiences, out of which 10(Ten) years relevant experience in supervision of large PC/RCC/Arch Girder Bridge and 2(Two) years experience in supervision of Road Construction. (Detailed in ToR). (Detailed in ToR). |
