All officers of Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation (IME) Division got a two-day orientation on public procurement management and electronic government procurement (e-GP) from 10am to 4pm on April 25 and April 26, 2017 at its conference room.
The objective of this orientation was to enhance capacity of the officers in carrying out their official tasks relating to public procurement management.
The IMED arranged the orientation and its Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) facilitated it with trainers and resources. The CPTU is implementing e-GP in the country with support from the World Bank under the Public Procurement Reform Project-II.
AKM Badrul Majid, Additional Secretary, Administration of IMED, opened the two-day training on April 25, 2017. Md Mahmudul Huq, Joint Secretary, Administration, IMED, anchored the programme in presence of senior officials of IMED.
Director General of CPTU and Additional Secretary Md Faruque Hossain conducted the first session of on day one on various aspects of public procurement including PPA-2006 and PPR-2008.
Md Aknur Rahman, Deputy Director, CPTU, conducted another session on various steps of procurement process, implementation of PPA and PPR and other basic issues. Md Mosharraf Hossain, Senior System Analyst, CPTU made a presentation on registration of procuring agencies, procurement planning and processing in the e-GP system.
On day two, AKM Fazlul Karim, Procurement Reform Implementation Adviser, CPTU, elaborated on different methods and their application in public procurement. Ajay Kumar Chakraborty, Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary), CPTU, explained complaints, appeal and debarment procedures and the JVCA issues in public procurement.
Hasan Mahmud conducted a session on tender opening, evaluation, approval process and contract signing in e-GP system.
The DG, CPTU and Joint Secretary, Admin of IMED, moderated the question- answer and concluding session on April 26, 2017. |
