INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The scope of the assignment will focus on the social aspects of the "Pre-primary and Primary Education Improvement Project" in Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, and Bhasanchar. The key responsibilities include:
• Social Assessment: Conduct social assessments to identify and mitigate social risks. Ensure the integration of Social Management Plan (SMP) measures into project design, implementation, and contracts.
• Framework Development: Develop a Social Management Framework (SMF) outlining policies, procedures, and guidelines. Support the PMU in reviewing and approving SMPs and contractor-specific social development measures.
• Support to PMU: Address grievances related to social issues and develop community awareness strategies. Promote social inclusion for vulnerable groups, especially marginalized communities and FDMN children.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate consultations with local communities, children, and other stakeholders. Collaborate with the DPE, LGED, and other partners to ensure compliance with GoB and World Bank regulations.
• Capacity Building: Conduct training for project staff on social management, child protection, community engagement, and grievance mechanisms.
• Monitoring and Evaluation: Implement a monitoring plan to track the effectiveness of social management. Conduct site visits to assess the inclusion of vulnerable groups and monitor progress in school retention, education access, and nutrition delivery

| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |
: |
a. Qualifications • Minimum master's degree in any branch of social science/agriculture science or related subjects with a research background.
• Candidates having PhD degree in relevant subject may have an added advantage.
b. Experience • Minimum 15 years of work experience in government/autonomous/semiautonomous/ private/ University/NGO/international organizations.
• Minimum five years of work experience in the development sector and know gender and GBV, and prior training in social development activities.
• Minimum three years of work experience in donor/ IDA funded/development project/NGOs/Private sector is preferred.
• Knowledge, skill, and experience in participatory methods for community development and mobilization.
• Group facilitation skills and experience.
• Training skills; at least two-year training experience.
• High proficiency in written and spoken English and report writing.
• Computer literacy and skills (MS) Word, Excel, PowerPoint, other computer skills, etc.) is desirable.
