INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

Brief Description of Assignment : The Health Economics Unit (HEU) conducts studies to assess resource allocation and service delivery efficiency in Bangladesh's health sector. This study will evaluate public health facilities' expenditure efficiency by assessing diagnostic capacity, medical supplies, workforce availability, budget allocations, training effectiveness, and data-driven policymaking. It aims to identify gaps in service delivery (diagnostic equipment, essential medicines, medical technicians, capital expenditures, training programs, etc.). Research findings will contribute to improving healthcare service delivery and ensure alignment with UHC goals.
Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required : To be selected, the organization MUST fulfill the following criteria: • 10 years (or more) of working experience in conducting national-level health system assessments, public health research, or health service evaluations. • Extensive knowledge regarding the Government’s Budgeting System & Health, Nutrition, and Population Sector Program (HPNSP). • Proven expertise in conducting national-level surveys. • Prior involvement in Health Economics or Public Health Research or research in related fields. • Proven ability to manage large datasets effectively. • Expertise in using STATA, SPSS or other statistical software for data analysis. • Strong capacity for producing policy-oriented reports with actionable recommendations in English. Applicants meeting the following criteria shall receive SPECIAL CONSIDERATION in the selection process: • Prior positive working experience with the Health Economics Unit. • Demonstrated experience in health systems research focusing on diagnostic service delivery, workforce assessments, and resource distribution.
