| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
In carrying out the Consultancy Services for Establishment of Dhaka-Laksmipur Navigational route on Meghna (Lower) River, the Consultant (National) will perform the following (but not limited to) types of work.
• Reviewing of relevant reports, maps and literatures to assess the morphological development of the rivers;
• Analyzing the available data on the historical maps and satellite images and cross-sections of the Lower Meghna river of the study area in order to assess the prevailing morphological processes of the river system;
• Assessment of the morphological development of the rivers through analysis of river bank erosion, sediment deposition, bank line shifting using time series satellite images, historical maps, river cross-section and bathymetry data;
• Determination of suitable channel on the basis of plan form analysis by satellite images as well as hydrographic survey chart, assessment of previous changes and understanding of future channel behavior;
• Fixing the dredging alignment and estimating the amount of capital dredging using recent hydrographic charts;
• Carrying out the social survey to identify the different possibilities for dumping the dredged materials;
• Supervising the dredging operations and monitoring of the dredging activities to assess the refilling rate within the dredged channel;
• Estimating the amount and frequency of maintenance dredging based on the rate of siltation;
• Conducting EIA and SIA study;
• Preparation of Inception, Progress and Technical, Interim, Draft Final and Final Report.

| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |

The eligibility of the Consultancy Firm (National) in providing the Services are as follows :
i) The Consulting Firm must have the General Experience of rendering the Consultancy Services within the last 10 (ten) years;
ii) The Consulting Firm must have the Specific Experience as satisfactory completion of morphological study, design & supervision of dredging work etc. in the last 5 (five) years;
iii) In case of Joint Ventures, the Lead Partner must have the above experiences of rendering the Consultancy Services within the respective mentioned years. Other Partners must have the experience of rendering Consultancy Services of any water resource related project within the last 5 (five) years.
Interested Consultancy Firms (National) are invited to provide the following information with evidence indicating that they are qualified to perform the services :
a) Background of the Firm including general information;
b) General and specific experience of the Firm including area of expertise;
c) Summary of similar completed/ongoing projects including total professional man-month and contract amount;
d) Financial capability of the Firm including audited financial reports;
e) Summary of permanent professional employees with key personnel’s qualification and experience;
f) Summary of logistics and other facilities to carry out the service. |

Duration of the services will be 24 (Twenty Four ) months. BIWTA now invites eligible Firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Firms are invited to provide information and documents (brochures, description of similar assignments, experiences, availability of appropriate professionals, Qualification and experience of all expert and staff, trade license, VAT, income tax certificate, financial solvency certificate etc.) indicating that they are qualified to perform the service, EOI submission place: Office of the Chief Engineer, Dredging Department, BIWTA Bhaban (level-7),141-143, Motijheel C/A, Dhaka. Expression of Interest shall be submitted in 4 (four) sets (1 original and 3 copies) in sealed envelope delivered to the address of the undersigned below by the date & time mentioned above and will be clearly marked as “Request for Expressions of Interest for Selection of Consulting Firm”. |
