Brief Description of Assignment |

The duties include, but are not necessarily limited to:
• To lead project development and strategic support in a wide variety of areas, including value chain development and upgrading strategies, improving access to agricultural inputs, agricultural extension, marketing, and smallholder livestock development
• To lead the design and implementation of programme relating to agribusiness and value chain development, and the private sector development through productivity and innovation investments for dairy, goat/sheep, beef/cattle and poultry productivity enhancement;
• To support the strengthening of institutional capacities and policy frameworks in Bangladesh in the areas of livestock value chains, agribusinesses, producer groups and markets;
• To support the processes of formulation, analysis and evaluation of public policies, strategies, approaches and instruments which promote agribusiness and value chain development;
• To assist in the preparation and development of the sub- and matching grant schemes;
• To lead regular field visits to project sites located throughout Bangladesh to provide hands-on technical assistance and monitoring of program activities and implementation;
• Any other activities related to value chain development;
Reporting: To prepare monthly reports on progress made so far, implementation approaches, challenges/issues and ways forward.

Educational Qualification
Post-graduate degree in Agricultural Economics. Agriculture, Business or other area that provides the necessary analytical and technical skills especially in agro-enterprise development.
Candidate having PhD with extensive field experience will get preference.
Technical and Functional Experience
• A minimum of fifteen (15) years practical experience and demonstrated knowledge in business development, with a strong preference towards farming technologies management practices, agribusiness and value chain development;
• Twenty (20) years of work experience in relevant will get preference;
• Appropriate qualifications and/or experience in private sector development in agribusiness sectors;
• At least ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience working in a for-profit business with a strong preference to agriculture sector experience;
• Proven experience in capacity building and supporting the implementation of rural development projects.

• Persons who are already in services of the Republic or the local authorities/ Corporation etc. must have written certification from their employer/ office head confirming no objection to allow for work full-time outside (on lien) of their official position.
