INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT
|
| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The duties include, but are not necessarily limited to:
1. To review needs assessment report, discuss findings/suggestions, stakeholder consultations and agree on the way forward with the Project Director and his team;
2. To implement project activities related to poultry production as per the approved log frame and work plan to achieve the project outcomes;
3. To advise government, producers and the feed industry in developing and complying with feed safety/quality standards;
4. To contribute and technically support appropriate activities of the project with farmers’ and producer organizations relating to animal production and nutrition and feed safety;
5. To keep up-to-date and informed on relevant developments; design and conduct analytical studies on specific technical and policy issues affecting animal nutrition, feed resources and feed safety;
6. To coordinate with project implementation teams in supporting hubs activities; and assist farmers organizations and their members in good animal nutrition practices in collaboration with the hubs;
7. To implement any other activities related to value chain development;
8. Reporting: To prepare monthly reports on progress made so far, implementation approaches, challenges/issues and ways forward.

| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |

Educational Qualification:
Master’s degree in Poultry Science, with specialization on Poultry Nutrition. Candidate having PhD with field experience will get preference.
Technical and Functional Experience:
• A minimum of 10 years practical experience in the field of poultry husbandry and nutrition;
• Twenty (20) years of field experience will be an added advantage;
• Relevant experience in the assessment of feed resources, feed regulation and trade, and improved animal nutrition;
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with small- medium scale poultry farming and management practices;
• Proven experience in extension programme design and management, and training programme design and management;

• Persons who are already in services of the Republic or the local authorities/Corporation etc. must have written certification from their employer/ office head confirming no objection to allow for work full-time outside (on lien) of their official position.
