INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The duties include, but are not necessarily limited to:
• Conduct a review of the existing regulations and policies, perform gap assessment and develop a plan for revision of the animal health legislation (Bangladesh notably has an Animal Disease Act and Animal Disease Rule, including appropriate strategies and guidance to address endemic, exotic and emerging health threats from animal sources, enabling safe trade, efficient production and ensuring food safety
• Provide technical assistance/participate in animal health management (e.g., outbreak investigation, source attribution, disease prevention, and control of spread of infection) and monitoring antibiotic use and antimicrobial resistance surveillance in livestock.
• Provide technical assistance to prepare and submit AMR/AMU-related data and report as per the national, regional and global standards and requirements.
• Provide technical animal health support to project implementation teams in supporting hubs activities and support the development of dairy hubs schemes.
• In coordination with Upazilla DLS, develop capacity building plan, prepare training resource materials and deliver trainings (dairy management, hygiene and healthcare, dairy production)
• Any other activities related to value chain development
Reporting: To prepare quarterly reports on progress made so far, implementation approaches, challenges/issues and ways forward.

Educational Qualification:
Master degree in DVM/BSc Vet Science & AH, with specialization in Veterinary Medicine/ Epidemiology/ Theriogenology/ Vet. Obs. / Vet. Surgery/ Microbiology /Pathology/ Parasitology and other areas that provides the necessary analytical and technical skills.
Technical and Functional Experience:
• A minimum of 15 years practical experience in the field of animal health comprising, if possible, both technical research, writing of policy reports and support to multilateral or regional processes;
• Twenty (20) years’ of relevant experience will be an added advantage;
• Extensive knowledge and experience of working with national and international animal health agencies dealing with epidemic disease management; strong understanding of the working relationships and factors affecting co-operation in formulating and delivery of activities;
• Proven experience in capacity building and supporting the implementation of rural development projects, including the mentoring of project implementation staff;

• Persons who are already in services of the Republic or the local authorities/Corporation etc. must have written certification from their employer/ office head confirming no objection to allow for work full-time outside (on lien) of their official position.
