INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The appointed Classification society will discharge services & perform the following responsibilities as per rules and regulation of classification Society in connection with Procurement of 35 nos. Dredger with other ancillary vessels (described in Annex-A) for BIWTA.
1. Examine the design & drawing for Hull & Machinery Class for Dredgers and ancillary crafts.
2. Provide design approval service & the drawing/design must be reviewed as many times as needed.
3. Check stability & conduct inclining experiment and other calculations.
4. Conduct construction supervision.
5. Classification society surveyor will attend during inclining experiment, load line survey & other experiments in order to ensure quality & performance.
7. Provide Load Line Certification, Safety Construction, intact stability, Damage Stability, Tonnage, cargo gear/lifting gear Certificate whichever applicable and other documents/ class certificates required to register under Department of Shipping.
8. Conduct Specification survey as per contract agreement of the purchaser.
9. To ensure Quality and specification for all the equipment installed on the vessels.
9. To ensure quality of materials used for construction.
10. To conduct test trail and to complete acceptance procedure on behalf of BIWTA.
11. To be present during each survey/inspection of Purchaser representative.
12. Any other services as required.
13. The vessel shall be classed by the classification society & issue class certificate for the vessel to the purchaser.

Interested Classification societies are invited to provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform Services (brochure of society/organization, description of similar assignments, experience in similar operation conditions, availability of appropriate professional qualification and experience among staff, etc.)
Interested Classification societies are required to submit the following documents complete in all respects with one original and one copy:
1. Application for Expression of Interest;
2. Registration of firm/organization (Updated Trade license, Updated TIN certificate, VAT registration certificate to be submitted);
3. Age of Classification society (Minimum 05 years);
4. Brochures & Profile of the Classification society;
5. Availability of resources (Manpower, equipment, software, transport etc.);
6. The Classification society must have experience regarding design approval & Supervision of following vessel worldwide within last 5 (five) years.
i. Cutter suction dredger of different sizes.
ii. Trailing suction hopper dredger (Minimum 1100 m3 Hopper Capacity)
iii. Grab dredger (Minimum Grab Capacity 15m3)
iv. Water Jetting/Injection dredger
v. Tug boat (Minimum 25 ton Bollard pull)
vi. Self-propelled Water Barge/ Oil Barge
vii. Survey Workboats
7. Classification society must have experience regarding design approval services for Bangladesh flag ships of Class Dredger or Class Tug or any other class vessel in the last 05(Five) years. Evidences have to submit.
8. Classification society must have supervision experience of Bangladesh flag ships at least 20 (Twenty) ships including Dredger during last 5 (five) years.

9. Society must have complete plan approval cell capable to discharge services (approval or correction) within 4 weeks from submission.
10. Society must have at least 02 (Two) surveyors duly authorized to supervise and issue certificate for both hull and machinery of the vessel.
11. Classification society must have the capability to accomplish the specification survey.
12. Society must have experience in the GOB (Government of Bangladesh) funded project in Bangladesh. Involvement in current & past BIWTA projects will be given priority.
16. Responsibility of manpower:
i. Team Leader
Team leader must be international classification society authorized surveyor to supervise both hull and machinery of the vessel and having at least 15 years of experience on related field. Team leader can be stationed in South Asia.
ii. Senior Surveyor:
International classification society must have at least 01(One) authorized Surveyor to supervise both hull and machinery of the vessel and having educational background on B.Sc in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering with 05 (five) years of experience on related field. Surveyor can be stationed in South Asia.
iii. Surveyor:
International classification society must have at least 02 (Two) authorized Surveyor to supervise both hull and machinery of the vessel and having at least 02 (two) years of experience on related field.
