| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
• Identify the effect on existing environmental and socio-economic conditions due to development activities and perform subsequent assessment for the South West (SW) region of Bangladesh including Sundarban;
• Identify key environmental issues and challenges imposed by both natural and human interventions that significantly impact the conservation of the SW region including Sundarbans;
• Establish baseline on the current status of the SW region including Sundarban in line with the seven sectors with respect to a selected period;
• Estimate probable future pollution levels and their impacts through internationally accepted standard mathematical modeling tools and techniques for the SW region including Sundarban
• Conduct multi-level stakeholder consultations at local and national level to identify the sustainability criteria for determining strategic alternative options;
• Provide an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) with identified strategic alternative measures; and Establish monitoring protocol and prepare comprehensive environmental auditing plan.

• The consulting firm shall have at least 10 years of overall experience in Natural Resources Management, Environmental assessment and planning;
• The consulting firm shall have experience as lead consultant for carrying out consultancy services for at least one projects involving Strategic Environmental Assessment;
• The Consulting Firm must have experience in Preparation of Environmental Management Plan
• The consulting firm shall have at least 3 years of experience working in the South West Region of Bangladesh
• Natural resources management experiences in Bangladesh Sundarban mangrove is preferable.
• The firm must associate with Foreign Firm either in the form of Joint Venture or Sub Consultant.
