| Brief Description of Assignment |

The essential component of the regulations on medical devices is to ensure usage of high quality, safe and effective medical devices and to avoid the usage of unsafe medical devices. Every medical device has a certain degree of risk and could be hazardous in a specific condition. Bangladesh has already developed a legal framework on medical devices regulatory system which is based on the guidelines of the Global Harmonization Task Force. Shared responsibility among all stakeholders (Government, Manufacturers, Importers, Users, Common People) is an important requirement to ensure the safety of medical devices. Therefore, Health Economics Unit has decided to conduct a survey on safety of medical devices to assess whether the safety of medical devices has been followed properly by the stakeholders. Thus, this survey will help the policy makers to devise and develop the new policy for ensuring the safety of medical devices. |
